Extend Windows Vista and Windows 7 Trial Period from 30 Days to 360 Days
We all know that if we install Windows Vista or Windows 7 in our computer system and if we don't enter product key and don't activate Windows, we can use them for 30-day trial period. After 30 days, Windows will stop working and we'll have to activate it.
But did you know there is a trick available which can extend this 30-day trial period to 120 days? Yes, you heard it right. Today in this tutorial, we are going to share a simple command which can be used to extend Windows Vista and Windows 7's evaluation period to 120 days i.e. 4 months.
If you want to extend Windows Vista or Windows 7 trial period, just follow these simple steps:
1. Click on "Start button -> All Programs -> Accessories". Right-click on "Command Prompt" and select "Run As Administrator". If you are prompted to enter password, enter the password and continue. You can also open Command Prompt in Administrator mode by typing "cmd" in Start Menu Search box and press "Ctrl+Shift+Enter".
2. Now provide following command:
slmgr -rearm
3. You'll be prompted to restart Windows, restart it and the trial period will reset to 30 days again.
So if you want to enjoy exact 120 days, run above mentioned command on the last day when your Windows trial period is going to expire. The command works only 3 times, that's why its limited to only 120 days. You can check the Trial period by going to System Properties.
Extend 120 to 360 Days
1. Type in the “Search Box” > regedit and then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ SL or instead “SL”, search for “SoftwareProtectionPlatform”
2. In the right panel change “SkipRearm” value to “1″
3. From now on will be able to use the command “slmgr -rearm” for another eight times. So now you’ll have a total of 360 days for using Windows 7 without activating it if you add all the extra days together. And If you want, when the trial period does expire, you can just re-install Windows 7 and get another 360 extra trial days free! Enjoy!
